Question 1

What does the Confluent Certified Developer course cover?

Accepted Answer

The course is built around the CCDAK exam and its six published domains: Apache Kafka fundamentals, application development, Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, application observability and application testing. The eight modules follow that shape, adding the Confluent platform material the exam assumes, including Schema Registry compatibility rules, Confluent Cloud networking and access control. You finish by sitting a full 90-minute practice paper scored by domain.

Question 2

How is this different from the Apache Kafka engineering course?

Accepted Answer

The Kafka course teaches the open-source project as engineers operate it: the log, KRaft, replication, tuning, ACLs and MirrorMaker, with no vendor exam and no commercial platform. This course teaches the Confluent product and its credential: Schema Registry subjects and compatibility modes, the distributed Connect worker on a Confluent cluster, Confluent Cloud networking, and a proctored exam that scores you against the six domains Confluent publishes.

Question 3

What is the Confluent CCDAK exam actually like?

Accepted Answer

It is a 90-minute online proctored assessment with roughly 55 to 70 questions across multiple choice, multiple response, matching and build-list formats, and the result is reported as pass or fail without a percentage. Confluent publishes a domain weighting: application development at 28 percent, fundamentals at 23 percent, Connect at 15 percent, observability at 13 percent, Streams at 12 percent and testing at 8 percent. The credential is valid for two years.

Question 4

Do I need Java or Python to take the CCDAK exam?

Accepted Answer

The exam expects fluency in one of the supported client languages, and the course labs are written in Java and Python in parallel so you can work in whichever your team uses. There is no formal prerequisite and no requirement to attend training. Confluent does suggest six to twelve months of hands-on application development, which is why the course starts at fundamentals and builds a running service rather than jumping into exam questions.

Question 5

Does the course cover running a Confluent Cloud cluster?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and it covers it as a developer concern rather than a network engineering one. You deploy a cluster, set up the private link or peering path from your own network, create a service account with scoped permissions, and connect with the command line tools. You also see what the managed platform changes for you, such as automated broker sizing, and what it does not, such as the behaviour of your own consumer configuration.

Question 6

What is the duration and fee?

Accepted Answer

Twelve weeks, three sessions a week of two hours each, totalling 72 hours, with labs against a local Confluent Platform sandbox and a trial Confluent Cloud environment. Fees run from Rs 45,000 to Rs 75,000 depending on batch and mode, with classroom, live online and hybrid options and placement support through 200+ hiring partners. Practice exam attempts are included in the course schedule.

Question 7

What certificate do I receive?

Accepted Answer

A SkilBrill Course Completion Certificate for the full 72 hours of the programme, listing the modules completed and the streaming service you built and reviewed. The Confluent Certified Developer credential is issued by Confluent after you pass the proctored CCDAK assessment. We prepare you for that exam and mark your project work; we do not issue the vendor credential.
