Question 1

What does the Oracle Database Administration course cover?

Accepted Answer

The course follows the two Oracle University papers that make up the professional database administrator credential: Administration I (1Z0-082) and Administration II (1Z0-083). Eight modules take you through instance and storage architecture, PL/SQL for administration, index and optimizer behaviour, RMAN backup and recovery, flashback, Data Guard standby databases, security, patching and upgrades, and end with timed practice papers scored by objective.

Question 2

How is this different from the PostgreSQL course?

Accepted Answer

PostgreSQL is an open-source engine with write-ahead logging, vacuum and autovacuum, and the course on the site teaches that engine end to end. This course is the commercial Oracle path: multitenancy, RMAN, Data Guard, pluggable databases, the Oracle optimizer and the Oracle University objectives. The tools, the failure modes and the credential are different, and the two stacks rarely meet in the same organisation.

Question 3

Do I need an Oracle instance to practise?

Accepted Answer

You need one to get real value from the labs, and the course is written on that assumption. A free Oracle Database 19c or 23ai install on your own machine, a lab VM or a cloud trial all work. We use SQL Developer, SQL*Plus and Enterprise Manager, and the recovery and Data Guard modules assume you can restart an instance, break it and bring it back. Reading alone will not carry you through the exam.

Question 4

Which Oracle credential do I earn?

Accepted Answer

Passing 1Z0-082 and 1Z0-083 earns the Oracle Database Administration Certified Professional credential, commonly called the OCP for the 19c release. Oracle awards that certification, not SkilBrill. We issue a Course Completion Certificate for the full 72 hours of instruction, and the course also maps the specialist papers on performance tuning (1Z0-084) and Data Guard (1Z0-076) onto the same lab environment.

Question 5

Is this course for developers or for administrators?

Accepted Answer

It is written for administrators and assumes you can read SQL comfortably. Developers often take it because application performance problems land on the administrator desk, and understanding execution plans, indexing and undo saves weeks of guessing. If SQL is new to you, start with a fundamentals SQL track or the PostgreSQL course first, then come back to this one.

Question 6

What is the duration and fee?

Accepted Answer

Twelve weeks, three sessions a week of two hours each, totalling 72 hours, with lab work carried out alongside the sessions. Fees run from Rs 55,000 to Rs 85,000 depending on batch and mode, with classroom, live online and hybrid options and placement support through 200+ hiring partners. The band sits above the other data courses because this path needs a licensed lab environment and a heavier toolchain.

Question 7

What certificate do I receive?

Accepted Answer

A SkilBrill Course Completion Certificate for the full 72 hours of the programme, listing the modules completed and the assessment work you submitted. The Oracle certification is issued by Oracle University after you pass the exams, and the professional title stays valid only while the certification is current. We prepare you for the exam and mark your lab work; we do not issue the vendor credential.
