Question 1

What does OutSystems training at SkilBrill cover?

Accepted Answer

Twelve weeks and 72 hours across eight modules: the platform and Service Studio, building reactive web applications, data modelling with entities, server-side logic and integrations, frontend engineering, LifeTime and AI Mentor, applied practice, and a customer portal capstone.

Question 2

Do I need to know Java or .NET for OutSystems?

Accepted Answer

No. OutSystems generates and runs the application for you, and the course teaches the platform's own constructs: aggregates, server actions and expressions. Developers from a Java or .NET background tend to move faster through the server-side modules because the concepts translate, but no prior language is required.

Question 3

What is the difference between a client action and a server action?

Accepted Answer

A client action runs in the browser and is for interface behaviour, while a server action runs on the server and is for data access, integration and business logic. Placing logic on the wrong side is the most common cause of a slow OutSystems screen, and one full module is about getting that boundary right.

Question 4

Is this training for OutSystems Developer Cloud or OutSystems 11?

Accepted Answer

The course teaches the shared development model and covers Developer Cloud as the current target, with the classic 11 lifecycle explained so you can work on an estate that has not migrated yet. The screen, data and logic material is common to both.

Question 5

What is AI Mentor?

Accepted Answer

It is the platform's built-in assistant that reviews your modules for architecture and performance problems as you build. You will learn which findings to fix immediately, which are situational, and how to keep the signal clean instead of suppressing it.

Question 6

Is certification included?

Accepted Answer

The syllabus follows the OutSystems Associate web application objectives, so it works as exam preparation. The vendor certification is booked through OutSystems' own programme, while the SkilBrill completion certificate is issued by us.

Question 7

What environment will I build in?

Accepted Answer

A real OutSystems environment where you publish running applications, promote versions through LifeTime and see AI Mentor respond to your code rather than working in a simulator.
