Question 1

What does Ping Identity training at SkilBrill cover?

Accepted Answer

Twelve weeks and 72 hours across eight modules: the Ping portfolio, PingFederate connection adapters and token policies, SAML 2.0 federation, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect, PingID MFA and passwordless, PingOne with DaVinci journeys, PingAccess and PingDirectory operations, and a federated capstone build.

Question 2

What is Ping Identity used for?

Accepted Answer

Ping Identity provides workforce and customer identity. PingFederate handles federation and single sign-on, PingOne runs identity as a cloud service, and PingID delivers multi-factor and passwordless authentication. Enterprises use it to centralise login for applications on-premises and in the cloud.

Question 3

Ping Identity or Okta — which should I learn first?

Accepted Answer

Both do cloud identity and SSO. Ping is the one to learn where an organisation must keep PingFederate on-premises or hybrid and integrate with existing directories; Okta is simpler to start with as pure SaaS. If you are targeting banking and large IT services estates in India, Ping depth is the scarcer skill.

Question 4

Is Ping Identity certification included?

Accepted Answer

The syllabus follows the Ping Identity Certified Professional blueprint, so the course doubles as exam preparation while remaining a practical build course. The vendor exam is booked through its own programme; the SkilBrill completion certificate is issued by us on the capstone.

Question 5

Do I need Active Directory experience for Ping Identity training?

Accepted Answer

Some. Ping typically federates to AD or LDAP for authentication, so users, groups and password policies help. Week one reviews those concepts before federation work starts. You should already be comfortable with HTTP, TLS, DNS and what a certificate is.

Question 6

How hard is SAML to learn?

Accepted Answer

The concepts are manageable in a week; the debugging takes longer. Most federation labs here are deliberately broken setups you have to repair — wrong audience, expired signing certificate, clock skew — which is exactly how interviewers test whether you understand the flow rather than the menu.

Question 7

What is the salary for a Ping Identity engineer in India?

Accepted Answer

IAM engineers with federation depth typically quote ₹6 – 18 LPA, higher in banking, insurance and large IT services where Ping estates are common. Pairing Ping with a governance tool such as Saviynt or SailPoint is what moves you toward the top of that band.
