Question 1

What is Six Sigma training at SkilBrill?

Accepted Answer

It is preparation for the Green Belt and Black Belt certifications, taught on the DMAIC cycle: define the problem from the voice of the customer, measure it, analyse capability and root cause, improve it and control the gain. The course runs over 12 weeks and 72 hours, with a full project pack and the certification evidence you must assemble.

Question 2

How is this different from the IT GRC course on this site?

Accepted Answer

IT GRC builds the control framework, the policies and the evidence trail that a regulated organisation can show an auditor. Six Sigma goes after a measured process problem and reduces the variation in it, using statistics, capability indices and control charts. One answers for the regulator, the other answers for the customer and the cost of rework.

Question 3

Which belt should I aim for?

Accepted Answer

A Green Belt is a part-time practitioner who leads a small project inside their own work, and it is the usual first step. A Black Belt is a full-time project leader and coach who tackles large cross-functional problems, and the certification normally expects completed project work with a sponsor affidavit. Choose the Green Belt first unless your employer funds the full Black Belt path.

Question 4

How much statistics do I need to know?

Accepted Answer

Enough to work the tools rather than to derive them. You will use normal and binomial distributions, control chart limits, capability indices, hypothesis testing and regression, and you need to know the assumption each one makes, because quoting a capability number for an unstable process is the classic mistake the exam is built around. No advanced calculus is required.

Question 5

What does the Six Sigma syllabus cover?

Accepted Answer

Eight modules: what Six Sigma is and how the belts differ, define with the voice of customer and the CTQ tree, measure with process mapping and measurement system analysis, analyse with capability, hypothesis testing and root cause, improve with pilots and Lean tools, control with control charts and a control plan, change management and project selection, and a full DMAIC project pack.

Question 6

What is the duration and fee?

Accepted Answer

Twelve weeks, three sessions a week of two hours each, totalling 72 hours, with the project work running alongside the sessions. Fees run from Rs 45,000 depending on batch and mode, with classroom, live online and hybrid options and placement support through 200+ hiring partners.

Question 7

What certificate do I receive?

Accepted Answer

A SkilBrill Course Completion Certificate for the full 72 hours of the programme. The Green Belt and Black Belt credentials are issued by the certification body you register with, such as ASQ, after you pass the exam and meet their project and experience requirements. SkilBrill prepares you for that exam; it does not issue it.
