SailPoint, CyberArk, and Saviynt are the three most-deployed identity governance and privileged access platforms in enterprise India. They overlap in scope but have very different strengths. This 2026 comparison helps you choose the right one — or design a layered approach with more than one.
The three platforms at a glance
SailPoint is the leader in identity governance and administration (IGA) — access certifications, role mining, JML. CyberArk is the leader in privileged access management (PAM) — vaulting, session recording, just-in-time elevation. Saviynt is a cloud-native IGA + PAM + risk-aware platform built for hybrid enterprises. All three are widely deployed in Indian BFSI and IT services.
SailPoint IdentityIQ / IdentityNow
Strengths: most mature IGA, deep customization (XML workflows, BeanShell rules), 200+ connectors, used by 50% of Fortune 500. Weaknesses: complex to deploy (3–9 months), needs ops staff, slower to add new features. Best for: BFSI, defence, large enterprises with complex governance needs.
CyberArk Privileged Access Manager
Strengths: best-in-class PAM, session isolation and recording, DevOps secrets management (Conjur), mature threat analytics. Weaknesses: PAM-only (no IGA certifications), expensive per-privileged-account. Best for: organizations with high-risk privileged accounts — banks, government, healthcare.
Saviynt Cloud-Native IGA + PAM
Strengths: cloud-native SaaS, fast deployment (6–12 weeks), risk-aware access decisions, built-in PAM, fine-grained access for cloud workloads (AWS, Azure, GCP). Weaknesses: smaller partner ecosystem than SailPoint, more expensive than IdentityIQ. Best for: cloud-first enterprises, multi-cloud, organizations that want IGA + PAM from one vendor.
Pricing and total cost of ownership
SailPoint: per-user perpetual or annual subscription. CyberArk: per-privileged-account (expensive). Saviynt: per-user annual subscription. For a 5,000-employee enterprise with 200 privileged accounts, the 3-year TCO is roughly: SailPoint ₹1.2 Cr + CyberArk ₹40 L (PAM) = ₹1.6 Cr. Saviynt (IGA+PAM) = ₹1.5 Cr. SailPoint-only or Saviynt-only come out similar.
How they integrate
Most large enterprises use SailPoint for IGA + CyberArk for PAM. The integration: SailPoint provisions and certifies accounts; CyberArk vaults and records privileged sessions. Saviynt customers typically use Saviynt for both. All three support SCIM, SAML, OIDC, and REST APIs for integration with each other and the rest of your stack.
Career impact
SailPoint skills: 8,000+ open roles in India, ₹5–32 LPA. CyberArk skills: 3,000+ open roles, ₹8–45 LPA (higher because PAM is rarer). Saviynt skills: 1,500+ open roles, ₹6–28 LPA. The most marketable combination: SailPoint + CyberArk. The fastest-growing: Saviynt.
