About Course
About SAP FICO (Finance and Controlling) Training
Run the finance and controlling core of SAP S/4HANA: general ledger, payables, receivables, assets, cost centres and the period-end close.
SAP FICO is the part of the system that a finance function has to defend, because every other module eventually posts into it. The skill is not knowing which transaction posts where; it is being able to say why a cost landed in a cost centre, what a period close needs before it can be closed, and which part of the ledger a change would disturb. Each module here ends with postings you have made and a reconciliation you have to prove.
Course Overview
12-week SAP FICO training on S/4HANA: general ledger, AP and AR, asset accounting, controlling, product costing and the period-end close with exam practice.
Why Learn SAP FICO (Finance and Controlling) Training
Almost every enterprise runs a finance system, and almost every enterprise that runs one runs some flavour of SAP for it. FICO is the module employers name first, because a general ledger, payables, receivables, assets and cost reporting is the finance function itself. It is also the most stable module in the suite: the concepts transfer between versions and between industries, so a consultant who learns it properly has work in manufacturing, trading, services and engineering companies alike.
The career path is also unusually broad for a systems module. A FICO-trained candidate can enter as a finance analyst working with the reports, move into a cost accountant role owning the numbers, and then into a functional consultant role configuring the system for someone else. For commerce and accounting graduates it is one of the few domains where the degree and the system skills are asked for in the same job description.
Who Should Join This Course
- Commerce and accounting graduates — You are targeting SAP finance roles and need a system project, not only marks
- Chartered accountants moving into systems — You know the accounting and want to carry it inside a transaction system
- Finance team members on SAP — You use the transactions and want to understand the postings behind them
- Cost accountants and plant controllers — You own the cost numbers and want to configure where they come from
- SAP functional support associates — You support finance users and need the configuration logic, not only the clicks
- Career switchers from finance operations — You have the domain and need the system half of the job
Prerequisites
You need to be comfortable with accounting, not with software. You should know what a debit and a credit are, what a trial balance is, and how a vendor invoice becomes a payment and a customer invoice becomes a receipt. Many people in this course are commerce or accounting graduates, chartered accountants working towards a system role, and finance professionals who have managed a ledger in another system. You do not need to have used SAP, and you do not need to write code. If you have never configured anything, the first module rebuilds the organisational structure of an enterprise from scratch.

Hands-on Practice and Capstone
Capstone: Configure and post an end-to-end finance cycle for a trading entity: create the chart of accounts and cost elements, post vendor and customer invoices, receive a payment, acquire and depreciate an asset, collect project costs on an internal order, and cost a production order. Then close the period, reconcile the subledgers against the general ledger, write the close memo, and defend the decisions in a mock functional interview.
Production scenario: A trading company has migrated its ledger to SAP and the first close has not finished. The subledger does not agree with the general ledger, costs are landing in the wrong cost centre, and the auditors want a reconciliation. You are hired to close the books and leave a process that survives the next close.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the SAP FICO training course?
It is a 12-week, 72-hour programme on the finance and controlling core of SAP S/4HANA, taught on a live client. You post to the general ledger, process payables and receivables, maintain assets, set up cost centres and internal orders, cost a production order, and close a period with reconciliations. The course ends with a finance-cycle capstone and a timed practice paper for the SAP Certified Associate credential.
How is SAP FICO different from SAP MM, SAP PP and the general SAP training course?
The general SAP course surveys ERP, navigation and the cross-module cycle, and is the right start for a first-timer. SAP MM is the procurement module and SAP PP the production module; this course takes the finance and controlling side: what a transaction posts into the ledger, how cost is collected, and how a period is closed. If your job title says finance, accounting or cost accountant, FICO is the one named in it.
Do I need prior SAP experience or accounting knowledge to join?
You need accounting knowledge and no SAP experience. You should know what a debit and a credit are, what a trial balance is, and how an invoice becomes a payment. You do not need to have configured anything, and you do not need to write code; the first module rebuilds the organisational structure of an enterprise so a first-time SAP learner can follow from the first session.
Which SAP areas and financial transactions does the course cover?
The syllabus follows the published objectives for the SAP Certified Associate credential in financial accounting and controlling. You work on general ledger posting and reversal, vendor and customer invoices, payments and dunning, asset acquisition and depreciation, cost centres, internal orders, cost object accounting and profitability analysis, and you close a period with subledger reconciliations.
Is the course suitable for commerce graduates and career switchers?
Yes, and most of the room is made up of commerce and accounting graduates, chartered accountants moving towards a systems role, and finance team members who have used a ledger in another system. The teaching is built around what a finance function actually does in a live month, not around the transaction codes, and the capstone gives you a documented close cycle to talk about in an interview.
Will this course make me a SAP FICO consultant?
No course can promise a role, and this one will not pretend otherwise. What it gives you is the configuration and posting logic that a functional interview on FICO actually tests, a reviewed capstone close cycle, an exam-aligned revision plan, and the placement cell to introduce you to hiring partners for entry-level SAP finance and finance analyst roles.
What is the fee and how are batches run?
The programme fee is ₹18,000 – ₹75,000 depending on the batch and mode, and the SAP exam fee is paid to SAP separately. It runs 12 weeks with three sessions a week of two hours, in classroom, live online or hybrid mode, with weekday, weekend and evening batches. Enquire on +91 8610964691 for the next batch date.
